Meet Me & My Star

My story

Nice to meet you

Hi, I'm Claire and I live in Fife with my husband and our beautiful dogs, Molly and Daisy.

I’ve been a nurse for 19 years, with the privilege of caring for people and supporting their families during some of their most important and difficult times—both in hospital and in the community.

When I’m not creating your beautiful memorial jewellery, I love spending time with my husband and our girls, making the most of any rare sunshine, and enjoying a cuppa while catching up with friends and family. I love 1940's/50's hair and makeup, and when I get the chance, I’m enjoying some Mexican food and finishing the day with a wee comedy or theatre show.

My Star's story

Meet my Star

My Mum Dawn was such a kind, caring and strong woman who told it like it was, but in the nicest possible way whilst always making you laugh. Marrying our dad young, Mum had my brother and I which is all she wanted, a family of her own.

Outside of being Mum, she was a carer for over 35 years, she loved music, a good crime show, long soaks in the tub and time with her family. In her final year with us, she adored spending time with her wee fur baby, Daisy.

At a young age, Mum was diagnosed with a hereditary heart condition — hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Heartbreakingly, in 2025, after a hard-fought battle, Mum passed away while awaiting a heart transplant on life support.

In Memory of Mum

New Beginnings

Like so many others, I needed something physical to help me feel close to Mum — something I could carry with me, always.

My lovely in-laws very kindly gifted me a piece of memorial jewellery and I’ll never forget how amazing it felt when her jewellery arrived home to me.

When I first placed Mum’s jewellery on, it was incredibly emotional — but more than anything, I felt a comfort and connection I hadn’t felt since she passed away. It felt like the warmest hug from my Mum.

Right then, I knew I wanted to help others experience that same comfort and connection. And so, Starstory Jewellery was born — each piece created, finished and prepared by me, with my Mum beside me every step of the way.
