  • I use carefully selected, premium materials including sterling silver and a high-quality UV resin, chosen for its exceptional clarity and durability. Each piece is finished with ethically sourced mica powders and crystals, should you wish to include them.

Our Process

  • Ashes, hair or fur are carefully set into our premium UV resin using specialist techniques. Each piece is handcrafted to securely preserve your loved one’s ashes, hair or fur within a beautiful, wearable keepsake.

  • Only a very small amount is required to create your jewellery. For more detailed guidance, please click here to learn exactly how much is needed.

    Any unused ashes, hair, or fur will be carefully and respectfully returned to you with your completed piece.

  • Once your order has been placed, you will receive a complimentary inclusion collection kit within 2–3 working days via second class post to safely send your loved one’s inclusions.

    Inside, you’ll find clear and gentle guidance on how to safely prepare and package your loved one’s inclusions. Your kit will be carefully labelled with their name and unique order number, ensuring everything is handled with the utmost care and attention.

    A complimentary tracked Royal Mail returns label is also included—simply attach this to the outer packaging when you’re ready to send your inclusions back to me.

  • Yes, it is safe to send ashes for memorial jewellery in the UK when packaged correctly.

    With your inclusion kit, you will receive a complimentary tracked returns label via Royal Mail, along with clear, step-by-step guidance on how to securely package your ashes, hair, or fur.

    These measures are designed to ensure your loved one’s inclusions are protected and arrive safely at our studio.

  • Yes, I can carefully combine ashes from more than one loved one into a single piece, creating a beautiful tribute.

    You can note your preference in the comments section when placing your order, or get in touch shortly afterwards to confirm.

    If you’re happy for the ashes to be combined before sending, they can be placed together in the collection pot provided. Alternatively, if you would prefer to keep them separate, additional labelled collection pots can be included in your kit—just let me know as soon as possible so everything can be prepared for you.

  • No. Hair and fur are naturally very fine, delicate materials, creating a soft and subtle appearance once preserved within resin. Hair, especially lighter hair colours — such as blonde, grey, or white — may appear more translucent after setting, blending gently into the background rather than standing out prominently. Small settings often don't allow visibility. 

    With this in mind, Starstory has chosen a Hidden setting for all hair and fur inclusions, where your inclusion is carefully blended within your chosen resin colour to create an elegant, discreet keepsake designed for everyday wear, while keeping your Starstory close to your heart.

  • From the moment your order is placed, your loved one is assigned a unique order reference. Your inclusion collection kit is clearly labelled with their name and corresponding number, ensuring everything is carefully identified from the very beginning.

    Once received , each order follows a meticulous check-in and storage process. Your inclusions, order details, and jewellery are always kept together and handled with the utmost care.

    I do not mass produce. Each piece is created individually, with one order completed at a time, allowing for complete focus and attention throughout. Every stage is carefully checked and verified before your jewellery is prepared for dispatch, giving you complete peace of mind.

  • No. The crushed rose quartz and amethyst inclusions are intended to remain subtly hidden within your jewellery, adding their special meaning and symbolism without altering the appearance of the piece.

Ordering

  • Placing an order is simple—just browse the collection, select your chosen piece, then follow the steps at checkout.

  • We accept full payment at the time of ordering from most major credit/debit cards and Paypal.

  • Once your order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation email sent to the email address provided at checkout.

    If you don’t see this in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folder, as it can occasionally be filtered there.

  • Yes, Starstory Jewellery is based in Scotland and I offer secure delivery across the UK for all memorial jewellery orders.

    At this time, I am unable to accept orders from the Republic of Ireland.

  • Unfortunetly not. We only accept orders from the UK.

  • Changes can be made to your order, provided your jewellery has not yet been specially ordered or begun the creation process.

    As each piece is made to order, I kindly recommend getting in touch as soon as possible here —ideally before your inclusion kit has been sent to you—so I can do my very best to accommodate your request.

  • As each piece of jewellery is custom made and created especially for you, cancellations are not possible once your order has been placed.

    If you have any concerns, please do get in touch as soon as possible and I will do my very best to assist. For further details, please refer to the terms and conditions agreed to at the time of ordering.

  • You will receive email updates at each key stage of your order, offering reassurance throughout the process. This includes confirmation when your inclusion kit has safely arrived back to me, and again when your jewellery has been completed and dispatched with tracking details.

    Once your inclusions have been received, your order is carefully placed into my creation queue and handcrafted in turn. I kindly ask that you allow the full estimated timeframe provided at the time of ordering before requesting an update, as you will be contacted as soon as your piece has been created and is on its way home to you with tracking details.

    Thank you for your patience and trust while your jewellery is being thoughtfully created.

  • Once your inclusion collection kit arrives, I recommend returning your inclusions within 7 days so your order can move smoothly into my creation queue.

    That said, I understand this can be a deeply personal step, and you may wish to take a little more time. You’re welcome to return your inclusions at any point within 4 weeks of placing your order.

Delivery & Aftercare

  • Your jewellery will typically be completed within 3–5 weeks of receiving your inclusions.

    Please note that this timeframe begins from the date your inclusions arrive with me, rather than the date your order is placed.

    Each piece is individually handcrafted with care, ensuring your loved one's story is honoured with the attention it deserves.

    Each piece is carefully handcrafted and enters my production queue in the order it is received, ensuring every customer is treated with fairness and attention to detail. I take great care throughout the process to create something truly meaningful, and appreciate your patience while your piece is being lovingly made.

  • Your completed jewellery, along with any unused inclusions, will be carefully returned to you via Royal Mail using a tracked and signature-required service for added peace of mind.

    Once your order has been dispatched, your tracking details will be sent to you via email so you can follow its journey home.

  • At this time, I am unable to send a single order to multiple addresses. Your collection kit and completed jewellery will be sent to the address provided at checkout.

    If you need your whole order delivered to a different address, please ensure this is entered correctly when placing your order, or contact me within 24 hours and I will do my best to assist.

  • If you need to update the delivery address for your completed order, please get in touch as soon as possible so I can arrange this for you.

    Please note that updating your address within your account will not notify me of the change, so it’s important to contact me directly to ensure your details are updated correctly.

  • As each piece is fully customised and made especially for you, returns are not accepted.

    However, if you believe there is a fault with your jewellery, please refer to our 12-month Craftsman’s Guarantee and get in touch as soon as possible. I will always do my very best to support you and resolve any concerns.

  • Every Starstory Jewellery piece is thoughtfully presented to create a meaningful and memorable unboxing experience.

    Your jewellery will arrive in a luxury dark blue presentation box, with an elegant and classic faux leather exterior and soft velour interior—designed to feel timeless, elegant, and worthy of the Star and their story it holds. The smooth, hinged opening reveals your piece in a moment intended to be both personal and special.

    For those wishing to elevate the experience further, a beautifully designed luxury gift bag is available as an optional upgrade.

    Alongside your jewellery, any returned inclusions are carefully placed within a complimentary soft suede keepsake pouch.

  • To keep your piece looking its best, I recommend treating your memorial jewellery with gentle care. While it is designed to be worn and cherished every day, avoiding exposure to water, harsh chemicals, and perfumes will help preserve its finish and longevity.

    When not being worn, we recommend storing your jewellery in the presentation box it arrived in, helping to protect it from scratches and keep it safely stored.
