1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the sale and purchase of products through our website.

1.2 You will be required to expressly agree to these Terms and Conditions before placing an order. We may also require you to provide written confirmation (e.g. typing “I promise”) to confirm you have read and understood them.

1.3 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable UK law.

1.4 We are not responsible for items lost in the post either to us or from us, or for delays once items leave our possession. However, we will always try to assist and may offer a replacement where appropriate. You may need to provide additional materials if an item is lost.

2. Interpretation

2.1 “We”, “us”, “our” refers to Starstory Jewellery.

2.2 “You” refers to the customer.

3. Order Process

3.1 Products displayed on our website are an invitation to treat, not a binding offer.

3.2 A contract is formed only when we confirm your order.

3.3 Orders must include all required details and notes at checkout.

3.4 You must check your order carefully. Errors must be reported within 1 hour of placing the order.

3.5 Conversations via email, social media, or other channels do not count as order instructions unless included in your order notes.

3.6 Changes cannot be made once production has begun.

3.7 Artistic Discretion & Handmade Nature

All pieces are handmade and created using your materials. By ordering, you accept:

• Placement of ashes, hair, and elements is at our discretion unless agreed in advance
• Air bubbles, fibres, and inclusions are normal and not faults
• Colours vary depending on materials and lighting
• Each piece will differ from website images
• Hair and ashes may appear differently than expected
• Resin colours may vary slightly between batches
• Metalwork may show small marks typical of handmade jewellery
• Ring sizing may vary slightly due to tolerances

3.8 Proof Photos

We may provide proof photos as a goodwill gesture but are not obligated to do so. These are guides only and not part of the contract.

Delays in responding to proof photos may affect delivery times.

3.9 Suppliers & Materials

We may use different suppliers or substitute materials where necessary due to availability. This may result in slight variations.

4. Products

4.1 Product types include:

(a) Custom items with your materials (e.g. ashes) – non-refundable and non-returnable (b) Custom items without your materials – non-refundable but may be returned if faulty (c) Items for use with personal materials – non-returnable for hygiene reasons (d) Non-custom items – returnable within 14 days

4.2 We may change or discontinue products at any time.

4.3 Items containing customer materials cannot be deemed faulty due to characteristics of those materials.

5. Images & Intellectual Property

We retain rights to all images and videos of our work and may use them for marketing unless you request otherwise before ordering.

6. Prices & Payments

6.1 Prices are listed in GBP (£).

6.2 Payment must be made in full before work begins.

6.3 We reserve the right to cancel orders for pricing errors.

6.4 Unjustified chargebacks may result in fees and recovery costs.

7. Complaints

7.1 Please contact us via email with your order details.

7.2 We will aim to resolve issues fairly and in line with your legal rights.

8. Delivery & Lead Times

8.1 Orders will be delivered to the address provided at checkout.

8.2 Lead times are estimates and not guaranteed.

8.3 Orders will normally be completed within 6 months of receiving both payment and materials.

8.4 Additional time may be required for hallmarking or engraving.

8.5 Priority orders must be agreed in advance and are non-refundable.

8.6 We may adjust lead times where necessary.

8.7 Customers must not send irreplaceable materials unless agreed.

9. Cancellation Rights

9.1 You have a 14-day cancellation right for non-custom items only.

9.2 Custom and personalised items (including those containing your materials) are exempt from cancellation.

10. Risk & Ownership

10.1 Risk passes to you upon delivery.

10.2 Ownership transfers once full payment is received.

11. Liability

We are not liable for:

• Losses outside our control
• Variations in handmade products
• Issues arising from customer-supplied materials

Our liability is limited to the value of your order.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.
